Student-teachers’ attitudes towards English as a Lingua Franca: A teaching-informed exploration of the reality of materials adaptation

This dataset contains all appendices included in the doctoral dissertation "Student-teachers’ attitudes towards English as a Lingua Franca: A teaching-informed exploration of the reality of materials adaptation". Please, consult the "Thesis Abstract" file for details about the project, which will soon be available for consultation on the theses database of the University of Aberdeen.

Appendices I-V are the data collection methods which were used in the study. Appendix I contains the questionnaire files, which should be viewable through Snap Surveys. A lower quality PDF version is also included. Appendix II is the ELF-oriented unit designed by the author and which was used in the questionnaire. Appendix III explains the materials adaptation task, while Appendix IV contains the instructions given to the participants to set up OBS Studio for the video recordings that were used in the video-stimulated recall protocols. Appendix V contains the semi-structured interview schedule.

Appendices VI-IX contain the participant information sheets for each data collection method, while appendices X-XII contain the consent forms for each data collection method except the questionnaire. The consent form for the questionnaire was embedded in the online questionnaire itself.

Appendix XIII contains the adaptations made by participants on the original textbook unit, which have been edited to omit all copyrighted materials used by the participants.
