The purpose of the project was to develop and use methods to measure the level of replacement abilities of personnel with different education and age in the Norwegian labour market. "Replacements in the labour market" means that one type of personnel replaces by another type of personnel within a line of business or generally on the labour market as a whole. The possibility of replacement applies to which degree of substitution that can happen within a given set of types of jobs without implications for the production. The project has two datasets. One is a questionnaire among employers, based on a nationwide sample of vacant positions. In total there were 2044 respondents. The other part is a pilot project with a sample of vacant positions advertised in the paper "Aftenposten". In this part the number of observations is 124. The project is carried out in cooperation with the labour administration.
