Monthly Dipole Mode Index (DMI) Dataset Based on ERSSTv5 (Climatology 1991–2020)

This record contains the monthly Dipole Mode Index (DMI) dataset used in the study entitled Disentangling Seasonal ENSO and Indian Ocean Dipole Influences on Rainfall Variability over Sumatra. The dataset includes monthly values of the Western Tropical Indian Ocean (WTIO), the Southeastern Tropical Indian Ocean (SETIO), and the corresponding Dipole Mode Index (DMI = WTIO − SETIO), based on ERSSTv5 climatology (1991–2020). The original dataset was obtained from the JAMSTEC SINTEX-F project and is provided to support reproducibility of the analyses reported in the associated manuscript.
