We use a laser-induced forward transfer (LIFT)-based method coupled with a full-length mRNA-sequencing protocol (LIFT-seq) for profiling region-specific tissues. LIFT-seq was applied to the cortex and hippocampus regions of the mouse brain for profiling gene expression. The ability of LIFT-seq to recover mRNA from isolated tissues was investigated on fresh frozen mouse brain sections by full-length mRNA-seq. To investigate if LIFT-seq could profile the gene expression of region-specific mROIs, we applied LIFT-seq to mouse brain cortex and hippocampus regions
