In the present study, the tet(C) gene, one of the most widely distributed tet genes in various environmental niches, was detected in eleven Aeromonas media strains isolated from an aerobic biofilm reactor under oxytetracycline stresses. Genomic sequencingdemonstrated that tet(C) was carried by an IS26 composite transposon, namedTn6434, which was detected in all the tet(C)-positive A. media strains.
