Microplastic pollution and associated microbial communities potentially harboring AmpC beta-lactamases genes

The study aims to shed light into microplastics pollution and the association with microorganisms in a river system from South Africa's perspective . The goal of the study is to narrow the knowledge gap and report on the association between microplastics harboring potentially pathogenic microbials that carry antibiotic resistance genes within the riverine systems.
