Extensive Listening Syllabus and Lecture Note: Even Semester 2025-2026 (Industrial-Based)

Extensive Listening is a course with 2 credits designed specifically for students of the English Education Study Program. This course examines in depth the theoretical foundations, pedagogical applications, and research-based practices of extensive listening as the main approach in developing second language (L2) listening skills. Students will explore how exposure to a large amount of easy-to-understand and fun listening materials can facilitate language acquisition, especially for non-native speaker learners who are learning English as a foreign language (EFL). This course integrates the latest research results from a variety of reputable scientific sources, preparing aspiring English educators to implement evidence-based extensive listening programs in a variety of diverse educational contexts. The learning approach prioritizes active exploration through individual and group independent projects, simulation, case study analysis, and the use of digital technology that does not burden students economically. The main focus is to build theoretical understanding as well as practical skills that are relevant to the needs of the world of work.
