Una dieta per modo di dire. Indagini su alcune espressioni idiomatiche relative al cibo

If delving into the study of so-called idioms means getting to know, in a diachronic and non-diachronic perspective, the traditions, customs, and habits of a specific population, this is even more true for idioms related to the semantic sphere of food, especially for Italian culture. The essay, therefore, aims to investigate the history of some of the most common idioms related to food. Moreover, the analysis will be conducted also, whether possible, using a new scientific tool: the AtLiTeG database (Atlante della lingua e dei testi della cultura gastronomica italiana dall'età medievale all'Unità), an interregional corpus of texts, either already published, unpublished or lacking philologically grounded editions.
