Genotype- and tissue-specific genes involved in water-induced distinct sweet cherry fruit cracking phenotypes

To investigate the spatial and temporal mechanism underlying sweet cherry fruit cracking, skin and flesh tissue from the cracking susceptible Early Bigi and the cracking tolerant Regina cultivars were sampled prior and just after water dipping treatment for 1 hour to characterize water-affected metabolic networks that putatively involved in fruit cracking.
