Large scale sequencing of soybean genomes

This project is focused on genome-wide characterization of genetic diversity in the USDA germplasm collection to provide a knowledge base and technological platform for future genetic improvement in soybean. Major goal of this project is to sequence a core set of most diverse cultivated, landrace and wild soybean genomes and study the genomic variations. The information will allow the soybean community globally an unprecedented opportunity to identify alleles associated with important traits.
