<p>3D scan of a wooden chess piece from the winter camp of the "Fram " expedition 1895/1896 on Franz Josef Land. The expedition was led by the
later Nobel Peace Prize laureate Fridtjof Nansen (1861–1930).</p><p>The chess piece is very likely a king. This type of representation was common during the 18th and 19th century. </p>
