Employment participation; elderly

This table contains quarterly and annual figures on the employment rate of older people in the Netherlands. The population aged 55 or over (excluding the institutional population) is divided into the employed, unemployed and non-working population. The working population is further classified according to the position in the working environment and the average working time. A breakdown by gender and age is available for the different classifications. Data available from: 2013 Status of the figures: The figures in this table are final. Amendments as of 14 November 2023: The figures for the third quarter of 2023 have been added. Amendments as of 17 August 2022: None, this is a new table. This table has been compiled on the basis of the Occupational Population Survey (EBB). Due to changes in the EBB’s research design and questionnaire, the 2021 figures are not necessarily comparable to those up to 2020. The key figures in this table have therefore been made consistent with the (non-seasonally adjusted) figures in the Labour Participation table, seasonally adjusted key figures (see paragraph 4), recalculating the results for the period 2013-2020 in order to align with the results from 2021 onwards. In further detailing the results by job and personal characteristics, there may nevertheless be differences between 2020 and 2021 as a result of the new methodology. When will there be new figures?
