Week 4: Field sampling with animals (Quadrats)

To obtain data for the various insects and animals, ten quadrats were placed in mowed and unmowed grasslands. Each quadrat was placed three steps diagonally apart from eachother. Once the quadrat was placed, group members would analyze the area within the quadrat for insects or animals. A tally would be made of each recognizable taxanomic group while examing the area. Non-insects, such as the order Pulmonata, were recorded due to lack of insects and abundance of snails/slugs.
