As a representative of rhizome sprouting plants, bamboo can generate adventitious buds on its rhizome, facilitating its asexual propagation and dispersal. Seed production and rhizome sprouting are the two predominant reproductive strategies in bamboo.we collected germinating shoot buds and dormant shoot buds to investigate its rhizome bud dormancy and germination mechanism.
