Juan de Fuca Strait Current Meter Deployed 2019-10-18

The Nortek Aquadopp Current Meter A3L5390 AQD8380 was deployed on 2019-10-18 at Juan de Fuca Strait. Juan de Fuca Strait is a large body of water that connects the Salish Sea to the Pacific Ocean. This device is a Current Meter. Acoustic Current Meters (ACM) measure current speed and direction, using the Doppler Effect. Aquadopp current metres have a sensor head that contains 3 acoustic transducers, a tilt sensor, a temperature sensor and a pressure sensor. The instrument transmits a short pulse of sound, and then listens to its echo to measure the change in pitch or frequency. The change in pitch can determine the velocity of the current. It was deployed on a fixed platform. Data from this deployment were archived and made available through Ocean Networks Canada's Oceans 2.0 digital infrastructure, with quality assurance and derived data products following established practices.诺泰克（Nortek）Aquadopp海流计A3L5390、AQD8380于2019年10月18日部署于胡安德富卡海峡（Juan de Fuca Strait）。该海峡是连接萨利希海（Salish Sea）与太平洋的大型海域。本设备为海流计，声学海流计（Acoustic Current Meter, ACM）借助多普勒效应测量海流的流速与流向。Aquadopp海流计的传感器探头集成3个声学换能器、倾斜传感器、温度传感器及压力传感器。该仪器通过发射短声脉冲并监听回波，以测量音调（频率）的变化，进而通过该变化推算海流流速。本次部署搭载于固定平台。本次采集的数据已完成归档，并通过加拿大海洋网络（Ocean Networks Canada）的Oceans 2.0数字基础设施对外开放共享，所有数据均遵循既定规范完成质量管控，并产出配套衍生数据产品。
