Household Withdrawal Meter Data - Lahan, Nepal

The data here was collected as part of a PhD studentship conducting research alongside partners the Beacon Project (a collaboration between Anglian Water and WaterAid). The data consists of household withdrawal data collected at 56 households in Lahan, Nepal from 01-01-2023 to 01-20-2025. The meters were placed at the entrance to the household measuring the entire usage of the household from the piped water network. The network runs intermittently supplying water in the morning and evening to approximately 5000 connections. The data was collected by 'smart' meters consisting of a mechanical meter connected to a datalogger that recorded the withdrawal volume every minute and sent it to an online server. The meters cut out at various points during the data collection period. The withdrawal data both consists of two datasets, the ‘raw’ measured data and ‘clean’ data that has undergone some data processing. The ReadMe file explains these steps in greater detail.
