A temporal network that encodes the infection of 22 small mammalian host species by 56 ectoparasite species (mites and fleas) during six consecutive summers in Siberia (1982--1987), giving 6 different layers for a temporal multilayer network. Not all species occur in all years. The data set also includes the number of host specimens collected in the field and the number of parasites recovered from each host specimen. We use these individual-level estimates of host and parasite abundances, respectively, to determine the weights of intralayer and interlayer edges (see the R code).
Previous versions of this data set were used in:1. Krasnov, B. R., Matthee, S., Lareschi, M., Korallo-Vinarskaya, N. P. & Vinarski, M. V. Co-occurrence of ectoparasites on rodent hosts: null model analyses of data from three continents. Oikos 119, 120–128 (2010).
