Dimethylsulfide (DMS) and very short-lived bromocarbons (VSL<sup>Br</sup>) are important trace gases emitted from oceans that can affect global climate. The deck incubation experiment was conducted to explore the impacts of atmospheric aerosol deposition and acid-processed aerosol deposition in determining production of DMS, and four VSL<sup>Br</sup> including bromoform (CHBr<sub>3</sub>), dibromomethane (CH<sub>2</sub>Br<sub>2</sub>), dibromochloromethane (CHBr<sub>2</sub>Cl), and bromodichloromethane (CHBrCl<sub>2</sub>) in the oligotrophic western Pacific Ocean. The experiment revealed that atmospheric aerosol deposition significantly elevated DMS and four VSL<sup>Br </sup>values. Furthermore, introducing aerosols led to a rise in the abundance of high DMS producers, specifically dinoflagellates. In comparison, the acid aerosol treatment had a more pronounced effect on Chlorophyll <i>a</i> (Chl-<i>a</i>) and DMS. However, the responses of VSL<sup>Br</sup> to the acid aerosol treatment were more complex. While the average CHBr<sub>3</sub> and CH<sub>2</sub>Br<sub>2</sub> values showed no significant variations between aerosol and acid aerosol treatments, the production of CHBr<sub>2</sub>Cl and CHBrCl<sub>2</sub> was inhibited in the acid aerosol treatment.
