NRS-14499 | Registrar's minutes of proceedings [Vice Admiralty Court]

Rule 188 of the Rules and Regulations of 1883 provided that the Registrar "shall attend all sittings whether in court or in chambers, and shall take minutes of all the proceedings". This volume is a record of proceedings made by the Registrar or by a clerk of the Registry who acted on his behalf. The minutes for each case usually indicate the case number, names of plaintiff and defendant and their respective attorneys, and presiding judge. In addition, lists of exhibits tendered, names of witnesses examined and the issue of orders and motions together with the final decree of the Court and the amount of judgment are usually given. Three notices of caveats issued against the arrests of ships are also included. However, the volume appears to be incomplete as all the cases heard before the Court during this period are not included. (1/2813). 1 vol.
