Middle atmosphere temperature profiles by the CORAL lidar at Rio Grande, Southern Argentina
收藏资源简介:
The dataset contains temperature profiles retrieved from lidar backscatter profiles assuming hydrostatic equilibrium. Vibrational Raman channel is used for altitudes below 31 km. The instrument used is the CORAL lidar at Rio Grande, Southern Argentina (latitude 53.8 deg S). A description of the instrument is here: https://amt.copernicus.org/articles/14/1715/2021/. The temperature profiles are 4-hour-averages centered around 4:31 UTC which is local solar midnight at Rio Grande (-67.8 longitude). The time frame is 2017-2024. The data was prepared for the publication "Decadal variability in mid-atmosphere temperature derived from continuous lidar observations" by Pedro Da Costa Louro et al., to be submitted to the Journal of Atmospheric and Solar-Terrestrial Physics in October 2025.
