Annual Surface Freeze-Thaw Phenology Metrics and Core Analysis Functions for the Tibetan Plateau, 2000–2023

This record contains annual surface freeze-thaw phenology metrics for the Tibetan Plateau during 2000–2023 and standalone R implementations of four core analytical methods used in the associated study. The data archive contains non-frozen length (NFL), start of thawing (SOT), and start of freezing (SOF) as 72 annual GeoTIFF files on the common 0.05-degree analysis grid. These annual metrics were derived from the MEaSUREs Global Record of Daily Landscape Freeze/Thaw Status, Version 5, release 5.2. The code archive contains standalone functions for freeze-thaw phenology extraction, pixel-wise standardized ridge regression, XGBoost-SHAP spatial attribution, and pixel-wise structural equation modeling. Variable definitions, units, spatial metadata, software requirements, and short usage instructions are provided in the README files within the two archives.
