Dataset of Prolonged Nocturnal and Crepuscular Vocal Sequences of an Unidentified Large Felid (Pantherinae) in Western Tien-Shan, Uzbekistan (August 2025)

This dataset contains raw audio recordings and structured field observations of an unidentified large mammalian predator, documented in the Western Tien-Shan region (Tashkent Province, Uzbekistan) between August 7 and August 17, 2025. The recordings represent a significant bioacoustic anomaly characterized by exceptionally high call density and prolonged sequence duration across both nocturnal and crepuscular periods. The primary sequence (14 August 2025) consists of 91 temporally separated calls within a 4-minute 14-second window, while the longest event (17 August 2025) exceeds 6 minutes in total duration with 72 discrete signals. Additional recordings from 13 August 2025 (05:39 AM) document rhythmic territorial patrol vocalizations (44 signals) synchronized with corvid alarm responses. Accompanying morphological evidence includes a photographic record of large felid-type tracks (~13 × 11 cm) and vertical territorial bark stripping at a height of approximately 105 cm. These sequences exhibit acoustic markers (intensity, repetition rate, and resonant "Guuuu-uuuu" vocal shifts) that warrant independent spectrographic analysis to determine potential taxonomic affinity with the Pantherinae subfamily. All data were collected in situ within the Sijjak-Pskem-Oqtosh riparian-montane corridor (1400–1600 m a.s.l.). Supplementary Visual Evidence: In addition to the acoustic data, this dataset includes video documentation (recorded 15 August 2025) of significant territorial marking on a Poplar tree (Populus) within the Oqtosh-Soyliq corridor. The visual record confirms extensive bark stripping with a measured width of 20–23 cm. The markings were situated at a vertical height of approximately 105 cm from the ground level. The scale and physical characteristics of this disturbance provide corroborative evidence of a high-power mammalian presence, consistent with the territorial behavior of a large-bodied felid.
