Expression of MDR genes in the dermatophyte Trichophyton tonsurans was studied using RNA sequencing. 'Resistant' strains of the dermatophyte were isolated from patients with superficial, recalcitrant dermatophytoses, and cultured in sub-inhibitory concentrations of different antifungals. The differential expression of the MDR genes was studied using RNA sequencing.
