Menobalance: Cardiovascular risk factors from the CIMBOLIC study.

This data set (without missing values) includes information on the age, smoking habit, systolic blood pressure, total cholesterol, HDL cholesterol, incidence of diabetes and the body mass index of 359 female patients who were between 40 and 69 years old at the age of data collection.

It is extracted from data collected at the Gynecology department of the University Hospital (Inselspital) in Bern, Switzerland, in the framework of the CIMBOLIC study.  The goal of CIMBOLIC was to compare the influence of Cimicifuga racemosa extract (CR, Ze 450) and menopausal hormone therapy (MHT) on metabolic parameters and body weight in symptomatic menopausal women. A detailed analysis can be found in the paper "Effect of CIMicifuga raremosa on metaBOLIC parameters in women with menopausal symptoms: a retrospective observational study (CIMBOLIC)" from Friederichsen and al. in 2019.

The present dataset has been assembled in the framework of later research works on probabilistic imputation supported by the Center for Artificial Intelligence in Medicine (https://www.caim.unibe.ch/) and the Multidisciplinary Center for Infectious Diseases (https://www.mcid.unibe.ch/, grant number MA_14). 

The data set contains following variables:

Age: Age of the participant in years.

Smoker: Smoking status of the participant (0: Non-smoker, 1: Smoker ).

BP: Systolic Blood Pressure of the participant in mmHg.

TotalC: Total cholesterol of the participant in mmol/L.

HDLC:  High-density lipoprotein cholesterol of the participant in mmol/L.

Diabetes: Diabetes status of the participant (0: doesn't have diabetes, 1: has diabetes).

BMI: Body mass index of the participant.
