Skull morphometric data was collected from 93 adult specimens of both subspecies of the long-finned Pilot Whale, G. melas edwardii (Southern Ocean) and G. melas melas (North Atlantic Ocean,) with the aim of providing new information on their cranial characterizations and distinction between such subspecies. This brings a new line of evidence to help re-assess the current taxonomy of Globicephala melas.
