The purpose of an admission register was to record basic details about children admitted to the school and their parents or guardians. The registers were also used to record the progress of the children through various classes and the date of their leaving the school. Girls and boys are combined in the list. These volumes contain information pertaining to each student - date of admission; pupil's name; date of birth; religious denomination; name of previous school and date of leaving. The following details about the parents or guardians are recorded - name; residence and occupation. The pupil's date of admission to each subsequent grade, date of leaving the school and any occupation entered into on leaving school are also recorded.Admission registers in paper format ceased in approximately 1995 when transfer to the Office Administration System in Schools (OASIS) commenced. There are computer printouts from March 1988 to April 1989.

本入学登记册（admission register）的核心用途为记录入校学生及其家长或监护人的基础信息，同时用于追踪学生在各年级的就读进度与离校日期。本清单男女学生信息合并记录，各卷登记册均包含每位学生的如下信息：入学日期、学生姓名、出生日期、宗教教派、原就读学校名称及离校日期。此外还会记录家长或监护人的以下信息：姓名、住址与职业。学生升入各后续年级的入学日期、离校日期以及离校时登记的职业相关信息亦会被留存。纸质版入学登记册约于1995年停止使用，彼时学校正式启动向校内办公管理系统（Office Administration System in Schools，简称OASIS）的迁移工作。本数据集包含1988年3月至1989年4月期间的计算机打印版登记记录。
