GPR-DRONE measurements in Pallas

This dataset is part of the FIRI‑CRYO‑RI project, which aimed, among other goals, to acquire a drone‑mounted GPR measurement system for snow monitoring and to test its performance in natural snow conditions. The data were collected on 23 April 2025 in the Lompolavuoma area located in Pallas, Finland.

The research dataset includes drone‑based GPR measurements conducted with both a low‑frequency radar (100 MHz) and a high‑frequency radar (1 GHz). In addition, the dataset contains reference measurements of snow depth. The low‑frequency measurements focus on imaging the structure of the mire area, while the high‑frequency measurements are aimed at determining the layer structure and depth of snow and ice.
