Adaptive introgression and reinforcement are key processes in the evolution of species boundaries among phylogenetic relatives. This study investigated their impact on the adaptation and colonization of two island maples, <i>Acer morrisonense</i> (Am) and <i>A. caudatifolium</i> (Ac), in Taiwan, where their overlapping ranges allow for a unique examination of species integrity amid gene flow.
