Osteological reassessment of Muyelensaurus pecheni (Dinosauria: Sauropoda): Systematics and its Phylogenetic implications for the clade Rinconsauria

Since its original definition, Rinconsauria has been considered a clade with high taxonomic diversity. This peculiarity may result from several factors, including an incomplete anatomical description, missing data, a unique combination of morphological characters, or even the presence of multiple species among the specimens referred to Muyelensaurus pecheni. In this study, we provide a detailed description of the holotype, paratypes, and other originally referred remains of Muyelensaurus pecheni, and we analyze their phylogenetic position using three independent datasets under both equal-weight and extended implied-weight approaches to provide an updated interpretation.

自林孔龙类（Rinconsauria）的原始定义确立以来，该演化支便被认为具有极高的分类多样性。这一特性可能由多种因素造成，包括解剖学描述不完整、相关数据缺失、形态特征组合独特，甚至在被归入佩氏穆耶伦龙（Muyelensaurus pecheni）的标本中存在多个物种。本研究对佩氏穆耶伦龙的正模标本、副模标本及其他最初归入该物种的遗骸进行了详细描述，并基于三套独立数据集，分别采用等加权法与扩展隐含加权法分析其系统发育位置，以期提供更新的学术解读。
