Maine groundfish assistance program : Final report

Two programs were initiated. with the $2m in federal ground:fish assistance funds. Each of these is described below. The Department administered these programs using existing staff and absorbed both indirect and direct administrative costs, so that the maximum amount of funds could be paid to industry members affected by regulatory cutbacks. Both programs are now completed. Checks for Lost Days at Sea compensation were distributed in January, 2003. The Portland Fish Exchange Rebate program ended in January, 2004. Grant no. NA03NMF4540013
