资源简介:
Moored current velocity, temperature, pressure, inverted echo
sounder (IES) travel times from a 2 year MMS study of deep water
currents in the northern Gulf of Mexico. 3 short bottom moorings and
one tall full water column mooring were deployed from August 1999 to
September 2001 in water depths from 1375 to 2175 m. The site was at
the base of the Sigsbee Escarpment due south of the Mississippi delta.
Instrumentation includes current meters, ADCP's
temperature/conductivity sensors. Three bottom mounted PIES were
deployed around the tall mooring to test the accuracy of PIES derived
geostrophic currents.. The data were used to studythe Loop
Current(LC), LC eddies, slope eddies, inertial-internal waves and deep
topographic Rossby waves.
