Varcloud ice cloud properties (Level 2B) derived from HALO data obtained during the (AC)3 campaign

During the HALO-(AC)³ campaign in March and April 2022 downward looking lidar and cloud radar profiles were measured onboard of the High Altitude LOng range research aircraft (HALO) over the Arctic sea ice and ocean. All research flights were conducted from Kiruna, Sweden, with flight patterns extending across the Fram Strait and into the central Arctic. The campaign was designed to investigate the transport of air masses into and out of the Arctic, with particular emphasis on warm-air intrusions and cold-air outbreaks. By deploying remote-sensing instrumentation aboard HALO, these air masses could be observed repeatedly and tracked over multi-day periods. The first dedicated research flight was RF02, whereas RF01 served as the transfer flight from Oberpfaffenhofen, Germany, to Kiruna. This sub-dataset provides ice cloud properties retrieved from the WALES lidar and MIRA cloud radar using the synergistic Varcloud retrieval in its configuration described in Cazenave et al (2019). The data is provided on the same grid like the lidar measurements from WALES (https://doi.org/10.1594/PANGAEA.967086).
