The bacterial diversity of Putrajaya Lake was identified using Illumina Miseq Sequencing, targeting 16S rRNA V3-V4 hypervariable regions. To our knowledge this is the first study to use High Throughput Sequencing on bacterial diversity in Putrajaya Lake. The association of physico-chemical parameters with bacterial composition will help to determine the current water quality and aid in future strategies in maintaining Putrajaya Lake.
