资源简介:
This dataset presents a six year-long data record of the partial pressure of carbon dioxide from the Chukchi Ecosystem Observatory. These data are presented as both csv-formatted tabular files and as self-describing netCDF files. The Chukchi Ecosystem Observatory (CEO) is a set of subsurface moorings on the NE Chukchi Sea continental shelf that is annually recovered and re-deployed (Hauri et al., 2018). The mooring observatory is located on the southern flank of Hanna Shoal, 70 miles offshore, at 71.6 °N and 161.5 °W. The instruments record with high temporal resolution throughout the year, including the under-sampled and poorly understood seasons when sea ice typically inhibits ship-based sampling. The observatory records physical, nutrient and carbonate chemistry, particulate, phytoplankton, zooplankton, and fisheries data sets, thereby providing an unprecedented view into the mechanistic workings of the Chukchi shelf ecosystem. While increasing temperatures and melting sea ice act as direct stressors on the ecosystem, they also indirectly enhance ocean acidification, moving the system across potentially harmful thresholds. With these data, we hope to gain a better understanding of current state and variability of the inorganic carbon system in these remote places.
