In vitro fermentation of algal substrates by broiler cecal microbiota

This study aimed to investigate the seasonal variation in composition of the algae Saccharina latissima, cultivated on the Swedish west coast and to evaluate the effect of fermenting the algae or algal components on the gut microbiota of broiler chickens using an in vitro fermentation system.
