Mapping by sequencing of period oversensitive to nicotinamide 1 (son1)

A forward genetic screen was conducted for Arabidopsis thaliana mutants with an altered sensitivity to the effect of nicotinamide on circadian period of the CAB2:LUC+ reporter gene. period oversensitive to nicotinamide 1 (son1) has a >4 hour period increase in the presence of exogenous 20 mM nicotinamide compared to wild-type period increase of ~2 hours. Pooled DNA from 25 son1 BC1F2 plants and the Ws-2 wild-type background was sequenced to 50 fold coverage. Paired end sequence data was used to perform mapping by sequencing.
