The scripts implement:• Analysis of morphometric parameters from the 0.30 m s⁻¹ contour, including width, centroid position, enclosed area, and core depth.• Processing and objective mapping of in-situ observations from the CANEK mooring array (2012–2020).• Integration of AVISO/CMEMS altimetry to estimate Loop Current extent and area.• EOF analysis of the along-channel velocity field.• Computation of correlations between PC1, velocity contours, and morphometric metrics. Required data:The scripts require MATLAB .mat files containing processed velocity and altimetry fields.These files are included in the ZIP package associated with this Zenodo record.To fully reproduce the figures, the following datasets archived in Zenodo are also required:• Processed AVISO fields (ADT and geostrophic velocities).• Gridded velocity fields derived from the CANEK mooring array (2012–2020).• Time series of morphometric metrics computed from the 0.30 m s⁻¹ contour. Data restrictions:Raw CANEK mooring observations remain restricted under institutional agreements and are not included in this repository.
