Dataset of HINDI TRANSLATION, VALIDATION AND TEST-RETEST RELIABILITY OF THE SMOKING ABSTINENCE SELF-EFFICACY QUESTIONNAIRE IN PATIENTS WITH CHRONIC ISCHEMIC HEART DISEASE

This study aimed to translate, culturally adapt, and assess the reliability of the Smoking Abstinence Self-Efficacy Questionnaire (SASEQ) in Hindi for patients with chronic ischemic heart disease. The translation was carried out according to Beaton guidelines, involving forward and backward translation along with expert committee review to ensure conceptual and cultural equivalence. Content validity was established using the Delphi method, and Item-Level Content Validity Index (I-CVI) scores were calculated. A total of 51 patients were recruited through purposive sampling, and the finalized Hindi version of the questionnaire was administered twice to evaluate test–retest reliability. The results demonstrated good consistency between the two administrations, indicating that the Hindi version of the SASEQ is a reliable and appropriate tool for assessing smoking abstinence self-efficacy in this population.
