Changes in the gut microbiota of mice after intraperitoneal injection of Huangqi derived exosome-like nanoparticles (HELNs)

Plant derived exosome-like nanoparticles (PELNs) are emerging as a powerful tool for treating cancers. Among them, PELNs derived from traditional Chinese herbal medicines have shown great potential in treating various cancers. However, many Chinese herbal medicines remain to be explored. HELNs are nanoparticles extracted from fresh traditional Chinese herbal medicine Huangqi (Astragalus membranaceus), and they have shown promising therapeutic effects in treating prostate cancer. Research has found that HELNs can accumulate in the gut region of mice, suggesting their potential to alter the gut microbiota. This study investigated the impact of HELNs on the gut microbiota of mice through 16S rDNA sequencing.
