With the high variability of natural plant growth environments, plants exhibit critical flexibility and resilience in regards to maximizing light use for photosynthesis while simultaneously limiting light-associated damage. Such abilities are associated with overall plant fitness. We monitored the photosynthetic performance of Arabidopsis plants under dynamic light conditions, including three light regimes: constant light (CL) conditions that represent a standard lab growth condition, sinusoidal light (SL) conditions representative of a typical sunny day, and fluctuating light (FL) conditions that represent dynamic conditions. After obtaining RNA-Sequencing (RNA-seq) data for whole plant rosettes grown in each of these conditions, we studied the global transcriptome profiles.
