资源简介:
Paired pollen and macrofloral samples were submitted for analysis from four features and
two sediment zones at Hyatt Hill, Great Smoky Mountains National Park, Tennessee. Examination
of pollen and macrofloral remains from the two sediment zones was designed to establish baseline
data concerning recovery of these remains outside cultural areas. Analysis of pollen and
macrofloral remains from four features was undertaken in an effort to identify use of plants by
people occupying this area. In addition, a sample that was originally described as representing
burnt thatch was examined to identify the plant fibers thought to be present. Upon examination,
this sample is more appropriately described as representing black-stained orange clay with
possible plant impressions.
