资源简介:
Trypanosoma carassii, a typical freshwater fish trypanosome, has recently been identified as the etiological agent of a recent outbreak trypanosomiasis of cage-cultured large yellow croaker (Larimichthys crocea) in China. To date, available genomic data for trypanosomes have been largely restricted to medically important mammalian trypanosomes. To address this knowledge gap and elucidate the genomic features of fish trypanosomes, we conducted the first de novo whole genome sequencing of T. carassii, an isolate obtained during the outbreak of trypanosomiasis in large yellow croaker in Fujian, China, using the PacBio HiFi and Hi-C technologies. This represents the first reported genome assembly of a fish trypanosome, with the genome size of 48.55 Mb spanning 34 chromosomes and nine scaffolds, and an N50 of 139.15 Kbp.
