Music and Pathways for Musicians with an Immigrant Background, 2016

This research was part of a larger project (Musical Gentrification and Socio-cultural Diversity) looking at different aspects of music's role in social mobilization. The project was based at Inland Norway University of Applied Sciences (Hamar campus). My sub-project investigated what paths musicians with an immigrant background take as they move towards a (semi-)professional status in Norway. This could range from young people born in Norway who are involved with hip-hop or rap to traditional musicians who re-establish themselves in Norway. The project contains several subprojects.
