Air Temperature and Humidity LoRa Sensor Measurements

Since spring 2019, the AWEL of the Canton of Zurich has been operating a measuring network of around 40 air temperature and humidity sensors (LoRa). The sensor locations are mainly located in urban areas, condensed in the city of Zurich, but also in other municipalities in the canton of Zurich. The objective of the measuring network is to provide measurement data for urban climate analyses, so that aspects of local climate and climate change can become more visible and can be taken into account in spatial planning and urban development. These data can be used to describe, among other things, the effects of heat waves in urban areas. The measuring network is operated by the AWEL, with the participation of the City of Zurich; the other local communities are informed about the measurement activity.
The data set available here is updated daily and includes all measured values valid for the sites in 10 minutes average, including appropriate location information. Further information on the dataset structure and sensors used can be found in the record description.
