Wine production areas with Controlled Designation of Origin (DOC) and Controlled and Guaranteed Designation of Origin (DOCG)

The data represents the areas within which, by cultivating one of the vines allowed by the respective production specifications, it is possible to produce wines to which the Protected Designation of Origin is recognised.Among the wines with a Protected Designation of Origin, one can distinguish:- DOCG wines, Denomination of origin controlled and guaranteed, wines with “detail quality” obtained from grapes grown in a particularly suitable wine-growing area whose name is used to designate a renowned and quality product.- DOC wines, Denomination of Controlled Origin, wines produced in demarcated areas, usually of small and medium size, indicated by their geographical name.
