Ownership rate by gender and immigration status of household caregivers

The dataset describes the share of reference persons in private households with self-occupied residential property per 100 reference persons in private households at the main residence. Under immigration status, the migration background, as well as the distinction between German (naturalized / emigrants) and non-German (including separately persons of Turkish nationality) are recorded. On the one hand, the ownership rate provides information on the economic performance of the population with a migrant background, and on the other hand, it is an indicator of permanent residence orientation. At the same time, however, the acquisition of property may also have to do with the lack of opportunity to find an apartment on the free housing market and constitute an ‘escape into property’. It should be borne in mind that people with a migrant background are more likely to live in cities and large cities, where the ownership rate is generally lower than in rural areas.本数据集统计的是，以主要居住地私人住户中的参照人员为每百人统计基数时，拥有自住住宅产权的参照人员占比。在移民身份维度下，数据集记录了移民背景信息，同时区分了德国籍群体（含入籍者与移居移民）与非德国籍群体（其中土耳其籍人士单独统计）。一方面，住房自有率可反映移民背景群体的经济状况；另一方面，该指标也是群体永久居留倾向的体现。但与此同时，房产购置也可能源于难以在自由住房市场找到合适房源，从而沦为"被迫置业"。需要注意的是，移民背景群体更倾向于居住在城市及大型城市，而此类地区的住房自有率通常低于农村地区。
