This paper-based collection (1964-1978) from the Institute of Applied Economic and Social Research at the University of Melbourne contains: data from the Survey of Living Conditions in Melbourne (Poverty Survey); records of discussions on methodology and preliminary work; papers based on the results of the Survey by members of the team (1964-1968); papers concerning government response and the establishment of the Commonwealth Commission of Enquiry into Poverty, chaired by the Institute's director, Professor Ronald Henderson, together with submissions, newspaper cuttings and related documents (1969-1974); director's office diaries (1970-1978); file on Medical Consumers' Association project 'Health Feedback' (1974-1975).
