Modulation of the gut microbiota during long-term consumption of a high-energy diet exacerbates of testicular dysfunction in a minipig model

Our study aims to increase understanding of the complex interactions between diet, male reproduction, and gut microbiome in an inbred Wuzhishan minipig model. We recruited 22 subjects and assigned them to either a high energy diet (HED) representing a typical Western diet (n=11) or a normal diet (n=11) designed to represent human dietary patterns for 64 months.
