Watershed Protection Overlay

The purpose of the Watershed Protection Overlay is to preserve the quality of the region's drinking water supplies through application of the development standards in Article 8, Environmental Protection. In general, water supply protection will be accomplished by establishing and maintaining low intensity land use and development on land near the region's water supply rivers and reservoirs. Where high density development is desired, water supply protection will be accomplished through the use of engineered stormwater controls.本流域保护覆盖区划（Watershed Protection Overlay）的设立宗旨为，通过落实《环境保护》第8条规定的开发管控标准，保障本区域饮用水水源的水质。总体而言，通过在区域供水河流与水库周边土地上建立并维持低强度土地利用与开发模式，即可实现水源保护目标。若需开展高密度开发活动，则需通过工程化雨水管控措施达成水源保护要求。
