Sediment properties of Louisiana marshes, 2010-2011, 2013
This dataset includes characterization of Louisiana marsh sediments, including bulk water and total organic carbon content, that vary spatially and in terms of environmental characteristics such as natural and anthropogenic oiling history, inundation frequency, and vegetation type and coverage. The data correspond to soft sediment core sections for which total bacterial communities (16S rRNA) are characterized (R1.x139.143:0010) as part of a longitudinal study of marsh processes and health after the Deepwater Horizon oil spill. Sample collection and analyses were partially supported by NSF RAPID (DEB-1044599), the GoMRI Year-One Block Grant-Louisiana State University, and the CWC RFP-I.
